NexMetro Communities is growing, and we are looking for a talented Financial Analyst to join our team. This position reports to NexMetro’s Associate Director, Underwriting & Investment and will have a focus on real estate acquisitions, development, asset management, and dispositions. We are looking for a driven, high-performing candidate who is excited to learn our business, any experience in multi-family real estate, real estate development, property management & finance a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly review of financial reporting including budget variance analysis and capitalization analysis
  • Assisting in creation of construction and development budgets used in property underwriting and loan acquisition.
  • Monthly property management KPI Reporting
  • Updates to IRR and waterfall forecasting, including review and updates for current performance, Lender fees and commitments, municipal fees, taxes, distributions and other terms and conditions.
  • Assist in the due diligence, data collection, preparation of materials to engage lenders and close loans
  • Assist Finance/Investment Department in maintaining models, tracking market conditions, reviewing property historical statements and creating ad hoc analysis
  • Track Lender Fees, Prepayment penalties, Lender participation and other data critical for IRR models
  • Assist in gathering of documents and data for sale of prorations & final true up prorations
  • Support additional projects for the investment and asset management teams as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent required.
  • Experience in real estate, multifamily property accounting, investment or lending preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Competency in financial statement analysis, real estate valuation, accounting and finances
  • Superior Excel skills, with competency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented individual with strong sense of integrity, entrepreneurial aptitude and professionalism.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results independently or as a part of a team.
  • Knowledge of property management accounting
  • Commitment to accurate, high quality work
